A
Healing Spiral is a workshop intended to facilitate
self-healing in women who have experienced a traumatic
birth.

The
Healing Spiral Workshop is a time to spend on yourself,
working on your own healing process and to share
in a safe and supportive environment. Refreshments
will be provided.
Who
should attend
The
workshop is intended for anyone who is healing from
a traumatic birth. This could include but is not
limited to having a difficult vaginal birth, having
an unwanted obstetrical intervention (unwanted cesarean
section, unwanted induction, unwanted epidural,
etc.), feeling loss of control, disrespected or
objectified during the birth, experiencing a loss
(loss of a pregnancy, loss of a child, loss of fertility,
loss of a uterus, etc.) or experiencing difficulty
bonding with your baby after the birth.

Can
I bring my baby?
Newborns
are welcome. The Healing Spiral Workshop is a time
to focus inwardly and it may be difficult to do
so with an older baby who is crawling around. Older
babies may also be a distraction for others who
are trying to concentrate. Be considerate and use
your best judgment. There will be space available
for nursing mothers to pump during the healing spiral.
There will also be a break where a partner or helper
can bring you your child to nurse. I will provide
the approximate time for our break (based on number
of attendees) and ask that partners wait outside
until given the cue that it's okay to enter the
space.
*Why
is there a fee?
The
fee is to cover materials and supplies for the event
as well as refreshments. Think of it as pampering
yourself and investing in your wellness. A limited
number of scholarships are available to anyone who
would like to attend the workshop but is unable
to pay the fee.
